I have a Bachelor of Science degree and work as a lab assistant at a government school in Gurdaspur. Though I’m technically a non-teaching staff, I teach various subjects at the school. Aiming for higher qualifications, I applied for the B.Ed program at Punjab University this year. After completing the registration process, they asked for my employment and qualification certificates, which I provided. My name appeared on the university’s merit list, but during the counselling session, they denied me a B.Ed seat. They claimed that I lack the required ETT/NTT certificate, even though I have teaching experience certificates.

As per Punjab University’s admission criteria, a B.Ed program requires an ETT/NTT certificate, which you lack. While your teaching experience certificates are valuable, they are not a substitute for the mandatory qualification. Your Bachelor of Science degree alone is insufficient for B.Ed admission at Punjab University.
