How many years do I need to work continuously to get gratuity? I’ve heard it’s either 5 years or something like 4 years and 10 months. Can you clarify this for me?

Under the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972, an employee is eligible for gratuity after completing 5 years of continuous service with the same employer. There is no provision for a shorter period like 4 years and 10 months.
