As a pharmacist in a government hospital, I’m the sole person in my role. When I need to take leave, the Medical Superintendent expects me to find a replacement myself, even though there’s only one pharmacist. This forces me to ask other staff members, like nurses and technicians, for help, which can be embarrassing. Should I be responsible for finding my own reliever, or is it the Medical Superintendent’s duty to arrange for suitable coverage? Please guide me on the relevant rules and regulations that I can use to address this situation with the authorities.
