My sister, who married the man she loved six months ago, has left home. She left a letter saying she was forced into the marriage, even though everyone knows it was a love match. She wrote hurtful things about both our families. Now she won’t even consider a divorce. I know everything in the letter is untrue, and I spent a lot on the wedding. Can I sue her for defamation to clear her false accusations? The marriage was registered under the Hindu Marriage Act.
