“Kreepa” marriages are not legally recognized in India. If a woman is harassing a man, he can seek legal recourse through filing a complaint under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, or the Indian Penal Code, depending on the nature of the harassment. Yes, a person can be charged with both bigamy and maintenance under Indian law.
