Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is a legal mechanism allowing individuals to bring issues of public concern to the court’s attention. Anyone can file a PIL through a lawyer or directly with the Supreme Court or High Courts. Any individual, organization, or group can file a PIL if they believe their rights or the rights of the public are being violated.
