My friends and I are starting a school together. We have an equal share in the venture, but one partner is listed on the school board as secretary. We haven’t formally registered our partnership on the board’s worker list. The school’s official documents say the head is the secretary. A lawyer told us that since the school is a social initiative, we can’t make a partnership agreement. What’s the best way to prove our partnership for future security?

Indian law requires formal registration of partnerships, even for social initiatives. You should create a formal partnership agreement and register it with the Registrar of Firms. This will legally document your partnership and protect your interests in the school.
