My father’s name is misspelled on my 2011 Class 10 mark sheet. Back then, I contacted the school but never got a response. All my other documents, like my PAN card, Aadhaar card, even my school character certificate, have the correct name. I asked CBSE for help, but they said I have to file a civil suit after a year of the results being announced. I’m not familiar with legal procedures. This mistake could really hurt my future. Please guide me on how to get this corrected.

You can approach the Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) again, citing the delay in response and the inconvenience caused. Alternatively, you can consult a lawyer to understand the process of filing a civil suit against the CBSE for rectifying the error on your mark sheet. It is recommended to act quickly, as the time limit for filing such a suit may be nearing its end.
