As a Dalit Christian, my ancestors were part of the Scheduled Caste. I’m considering converting to Buddhism to access SC reservations. Is this legally possible? What are the necessary steps and requirements for such a conversion?

Under Indian law, converting to Buddhism from Christianity does not automatically grant Scheduled Caste status. You would need to prove your ancestral connection to a Scheduled Caste community and fulfill the criteria specified by the relevant government authority for inclusion in the Scheduled Caste list.
