We’ve been married for a decade now, with two lovely children. My wife has always been suspicious of my interactions with women, leading to constant misunderstandings. This has caused a lot of strain in our relationship. Recently, I’ve found solace in an old friend who’s been struggling with her health. Being with her brings me peace and happiness, and I’ve been helping her with her medical expenses and other needs. I’ve always been a dedicated father and have taken full responsibility for our children. If my wife wishes to separate, I won’t object to providing her with financial support. However, can she legally force me to live with her against my will? Could she file a police complaint accusing me of cheating?

Indian law doesn’t force you to live with your wife against your will. While a police complaint can be filed, it’s unlikely to be successful if your interaction with your friend is platonic and there’s no evidence of infidelity. Your wife’s suspicions, without concrete evidence, won’t be sufficient grounds for accusing you of cheating.
