My wife has filed cases against me under Section 498A and Maintenance (MC). I got bail. I haven’t received any notice for the MC case yet, but the next hearing for the 498A case is on January 22nd. However, my wife’s lawyer and the bench clerk postponed both hearings to January 22nd, but the judge was on leave. The bench clerk said the 498A hearing is now on April 22nd but couldn’t explain the MC case. They just mentioned “petition presented and R1 (respondent) is present”. I can’t attend the next hearing. What should I do?

You should immediately contact your lawyer and inform them about the situation. They can clarify the status of the MC case and advise you on the necessary steps to take, especially since you are unable to attend the next hearing. It’s crucial to ensure you are represented and your rights are protected in both cases.
