Indian law does not mandate that one spouse pay for the other’s travel expenses during divorce proceedings. As your wife is financially independent, it is not reasonable for her to expect you to pay for her airfare. You are not legally obligated to cover this cost.

Is it possible to file for divorce in India without the other spouse being present in court?

My wife and I got married at an Arya Samaj temple in India. There’s a mistake on our marriage certificate – my wife’s nationality is wrong. We asked them to fix it right away, but they said we could do it later. Now they’re demanding a lot of money to make the change. Who can I complain to about this?

It’s been over a week since I filed a maintenance case against my husband, but he hasn’t received any summons yet. My lawyer said it would come within a few days, but now he’s not returning my calls. I’m worried about the progress of the case, especially since I couldn’t be present for the filing. Is there a way I can check the status myself?
