While Indian law allows for divorce, it doesn’t recognize annulment for marriages already solemnized. Separation is a legal process, but you cannot seek annulment. You may be able to seek compensation for emotional and financial losses during a divorce proceeding, but the court will consider various factors before deciding.

My wedding in Jaipur in May 2014 was a joyous occasion, but soon after, difficulties arose with my in-laws. My husband initially stood by me, but later sided with his family. The doctors’ report states he doesn’t have erectile dysfunction and is capable of sexual intercourse under normal conditions. However, they also mentioned psychological reasons for non-performance, as often seen in marital issues, can’t be ruled out. Given this report, can I still seek annulment of our marriage?
