My son was just 5 years old when I divorced my husband 15 years ago. He is now 21 and a young man. My ex-husband is the only son in his family with three sisters. His parents have passed away, and the house they lived in has now been transferred to his name. The house is worth about 1 to 1.5 crore. I want to know if my son can claim a share of this property, and what steps need to be taken to make this happen.

In India, a son has a legal right to inherit ancestral property, even if the parents are divorced. Your son can claim a share of the house, as it was likely inherited by his father from his parents.
