My husband and I married in 2011, and we have a 6-year-old daughter. We separated briefly in 2013 due to his extramarital affairs. He even registered on a popular matrimonial website as unmarried. We reconciled then, but we’ve been separated again for the past 6 months. I don’t have any concrete proof of his infidelity. He’s been married twice before and has a history of misleading women. I’m seeking a divorce and custody of our child. He took out a loan of 12 lakhs in my name, but he’s stopped paying the EMIs and isn’t even paying our daughter’s school fees. I work as a banker, and he’s a businessman. What steps should I take to get a divorce without any documents?

You can file for divorce on grounds of cruelty or desertion, which are recognized under the Indian Divorce Act, 1952. You can also seek custody of your daughter and maintenance for yourself and your child. You can file a separate case against him for the loan repayment and school fees.
