My husband, a trainee officer at SBI, is trying to divorce me. We have a two-year-old child, and our rent is paid by the bank through a 24-month lease agreement he signed. He’s now trying to cancel the lease. Can SBI cancel this agreement, and could I write them a letter explaining that my child and I want to stay in our home? Where can I turn for help in this situation?

Under Indian law, SBI cannot unilaterally cancel the lease agreement as it’s a binding contract. You can write to SBI explaining your situation and your child’s need for a stable home.
