Under Indian law, a marriage performed in Nepal is valid if it satisfies the requirements of both Nepalese and Indian laws. Since your marriage is not registered in India, it may be advisable to register it here for legal recognition. However, you do not necessarily need a formal divorce to move on; a mutual separation agreement can be considered, though seeking legal advice is recommended for clarity.
