I’ve been married for almost 4 years, but separated from my husband for almost a year due to problems caused by his father. He wants me to come back, but I’m afraid to because of his father’s past actions. He refuses to acknowledge his father’s interference. I told him I might consider returning if we remain separated because his father’s constant harassment even led me to attempt suicide. He also has a written agreement from my parents stating they’ll be responsible for any harm that befalls me, excluding him and his family. How can I navigate this situation legally?

You can file for divorce under the grounds of cruelty and harassment. Your husband’s refusal to address his father’s interference and the written agreement from your parents can be presented as evidence. You can also seek a protection order against your husband’s father to prevent further harassment.
