Despite working long hours, she was expected to do household chores, including washing clothes. Her husband was distant and uncommunicative. This led to growing resentment and a desire to leave. She suggested hiring a maid, offering to pay from her own salary, but her husband reacted angrily. Then, her 72-year-old mother fell ill. The woman rushed to Mumbai to care for her.
