My friend invested in a property deal with three others, but I didn’t put in any money. We found a realtor who asked for a ₹50,000 advance, which we paid. A person in the realtor’s office promised to find us land. Later, we agreed to buy land from him and my friend paid ₹14 lakhs for booking. Now he’s refusing to show us the land or return the money. We filed a police complaint, but the other party bribed the police and destroyed evidence. We’re going to court, and my name is on the case. Could I face any problems?

Since you did not contribute any money or have any direct involvement in the property deal, you might not face legal problems. However, as your name is on the case, you may be called as a witness by the court. You should cooperate with the court process and truthfully present your knowledge of the situation to avoid any potential issues.
