My father, a differently-abled man, was brutally attacked by a group of 7 people, including 3 women. He’s critically injured and in the ICU at Heritage Hospital. The police initially refused to file a complaint, but only after contacting the DGP headquarters did they register an FIR. After registering the FIR, my son, who sustained a head injury while protecting his father, received a call from the village head demanding a bribe of 3 lakhs to drop the case. When we refused, the police filed a false case against my son and nephew, claiming they assaulted the attackers. Despite my husband suffering 10 injuries, including a broken finger and forehead bone, the police registered a simple case of fighting. The attackers forged medical certificates claiming injuries, but they are completely false. Over the past year, my father filed numerous complaints against these individuals, but the police took no action.

This situation constitutes a clear case of police misconduct and potential corruption. The police’s refusal to register a proper FIR initially, their subsequent filing of a false case against your son and nephew, and their inaction on previous complaints against the attackers, all raise serious concerns. You should immediately report these issues to higher authorities, including the DGP and the National Human Rights Commission, and consider seeking legal representation to ensure justice for your father and family.
