I’m a Hindu working in the merchant navy. Last year, I filed a police complaint against my father-in-law, but he and my wife filed a counter complaint against me. The case is still ongoing, and I need to renew my passport for full validity. This is my only source of income, and my entire family depends on me – my parents are retired and live with me. I have no children. The accusations against me are false, and I believe they bribed the police to get the case registered. What can I do to get my passport renewed for full validity?

You can apply for passport renewal with supporting documents like the police complaint and FIR details. You can also include a statement clarifying your side of the story and stating that the accusations are false. A court order or an undertaking from your wife and father-in-law stating that they won’t misuse your passport can also be helpful.
