I filed a police complaint in Kolkata. The FIR lists three accused, but two of the names are misspelled. One is correct. All three were granted bail. The charges are 324, 323, 506, 320, 354, 34… What are the possible punishments for these offences under the Indian Penal Code? Will the spelling mistakes affect the case? Can I state that the person with the correct name is indeed one of the accused, while the two misspelled names refer to different individuals? Please advise on the likely outcome of this situation.
