This is a serious matter, and the official’s threat of legal action could be intimidation. Report the incident to your company’s legal team. If you believe the official is acting improperly, you can also file a complaint with the relevant authorities, such as the Anti-Corruption Bureau or the Central Vigilance Commission, providing details of the demand and threat.
