The passing of the complainant generally doesn’t automatically close the case in India. However, it can significantly impact the prosecution’s ability to proceed. You should consult a lawyer to explore your options, which could include seeking dismissal of the case based on the complainant’s death or utilizing the delay in proceedings to your advantage.
