I was appointed Managing Director of a public limited company at the Annual General Meeting, but I haven’t been given access to company matters and my dues haven’t been paid. What legal options do I have to take control of the company?

You have the right to access company records and receive your dues as per the Companies Act, 2013. If your rights are being denied, you can approach the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking a court order directing the company to comply with the law. You may also consider filing a suit for damages in a civil court.
