My wife and I, both senior citizens, booked a hotel through MakeMyTrip. Upon arrival, we found the hotel to be isolated and had to drive 80km to find a new place. I tried calling MakeMyTrip repeatedly, but could only hear a recorded message. After five hours, I finally got through to them via email and they called me, expressing regret for the inconvenience. They reversed the amount I paid, but I’d like to know how to claim for the travel expenses and the mental stress we went through. What advice can you give?

You can file a consumer complaint with the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) or the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (SCDRC) seeking compensation for the travel expenses, mental stress, and inconvenience caused. You can also explore filing a civil suit against MakeMyTrip for breach of contract and negligence.
