My builder has refused to hand over my plot despite having a complete sale deed. Now they’re saying the project is cancelled because the town planning department changed the layout. But instead of offering me a plot according to this new layout, they’re still refusing to give me possession! My lawyer says I might be out of luck because the builder might have sold all the plots. Is there any legal way to get my plot? The worst part is, I never received any notice about these changes, I only found out when I contacted the town planning office myself.

You have a valid sale deed and the builder is obligated to hand over the plot as per the agreement. The change in layout does not excuse the builder from fulfilling the contract. Consult a lawyer immediately to file a legal suit against the builder for breach of contract and non-delivery of possession. You have the right to seek compensation for damages incurred due to the delay.
