I had to travel for medical treatment and was away for a while. My private employer never informed me about any outstanding electricity bills, neither during my absence nor before. Upon returning, I found the power disconnected. When I asked to have it restored, they refused and demanded payment from the date of connection. I explained that I never received any notices or requests for payment but to no avail. Can you advise how I can get the electricity connection restored?

In India, electricity providers are required to send notices before disconnecting service for non-payment. If you can demonstrate that you did not receive these notices, you have grounds to challenge the disconnection. You can approach the electricity regulatory commission or consumer forum to file a complaint and seek restoration of your connection.
