I filed a complaint against ICICI Bank in the Belgaum court regarding my pension. The court accepted my petition and ordered the police to investigate the matter and file an FIR against the bank and its 10 directors. While the FIR is registered, the police aren’t actively investigating and are suggesting I withdraw the case and pursue it in a civil court. I believe this is happening due to pressure from ICICI Bank. The investigating officer (IO) is refusing to investigate and plans to return the case to the court as a “civil matter.” What are my options now?

You can file a complaint against the investigating officer’s inaction with the Superintendent of Police or the Director General of Police. You can also approach the High Court through a writ petition alleging the IO’s misconduct and seeking directions for a proper investigation. You can also pursue a civil suit against the bank in parallel, but this will be a separate process.
