I booked a plot with Sri Durga Properties in Bangalore three years ago. I paid a deposit of 5 lakhs, but there’s been no development on the land. I requested cancellation and the builder promised to refund the money within 30 days. It’s been six months, and he keeps delaying or making excuses. I want to recover my money and ensure others don’t face similar issues. I’ve seen similar complaints against this builder on consumer forums. How can I proceed to get my money back and expose this builder?

You can file a consumer complaint in the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) or the Karnataka State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. You can also file a civil suit in a court of competent jurisdiction seeking recovery of your deposit amount and compensation for the delay and mental harassment caused. The evidence you have gathered, including the complaint on consumer forums, will be crucial in proving your case.
