I booked a flat in Panvel in March 2013, measuring around 320 square feet for ₹12 lakhs. The sale agreement was signed on February 22, 2014, and registered in the Panvel registrar office. However, the agreement doesn’t specify a possession date. The builder has completed 80% of the construction and then stopped. I have already paid ₹10 lakhs, which is 80% of the total amount. The builder is delaying possession. Can I approach the consumer court to order the builder to complete the project within a reasonable timeframe? What are my options?

Yes, you can approach the consumer court to seek an order compelling the builder to complete the project within a reasonable timeframe. You can also seek compensation for the delay and for the amount you have already paid. You have the option to file a complaint under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
