Respected Sir,
My neighbors have built their stairs extending 4 feet onto the road, reducing the passage from 12 feet to just 4 feet. This makes it impossible to move building materials for my house. The property papers clearly state that each house should leave a 4-foot space for the road. Despite repeated requests, they haven’t removed the stairs. Could you please advise me on how to legally resolve this issue so I can proceed with my construction?

You can file a complaint with the local Municipal Corporation or the relevant authority, citing the violation of the property papers and the hindrance to your construction. You may also consider sending a legal notice to your neighbors demanding the removal of the encroaching stairs, followed by legal action if they don’t comply.
