My dad was a joint holder on my locker at Indian Bank, which I opened before my marriage. I’ve been paying the rent from my own account. Sadly, he passed away two months ago. When I went to the bank to update their records and access the locker last month, they stopped me! Apparently, someone sent a legal notice asking them to prevent me from using it. The manager wants a court order or a succession certificate. What should I do now?

You need to obtain a Succession Certificate from the competent court, proving you are the legal heir. This certificate will establish your right to access the locker and help you update the bank records. Alternatively, you can file a civil suit in court seeking a declaration of your right to the locker.
