Last week, I was riding my bike when a traffic officer stopped me for not wearing a helmet. He asked for a fine of ₹100, which I paid. But when I asked for a receipt, he refused. What should I have done in that situation? What can I do against the officer? What are my rights?

You have the right to a receipt for any fine paid. You should have politely but firmly insisted on a receipt and, if refused, reported the incident to a senior officer or filed a complaint with the Traffic Police Department. You can also approach the concerned authority for redressal.
