Imagine this: You live in a gated community in India, and your guest wants to visit. The security guard asks your guest to wait for the supervisor. Your guest decides to enter anyway. Can the guard physically stop him? Similarly, if a courier arrives and the guard insists you come down to collect it, can they prevent the delivery person from entering? What are the rights and responsibilities of residents, guests, and security personnel in such situations?

In India, security guards in gated communities can’t physically stop guests or delivery personnel from entering. They can ask for identification and inform the resident, but can’t forcibly prevent entry. Residents have the right to receive guests and deliveries, while guards have the responsibility to ensure security and follow community regulations.
