I’m a student who recently appeared for my 12th board exams in Madhya Pradesh. Unfortunately, I received a lower score than expected in one subject. I requested a certified copy of my answer sheet through RTI and found a clear mistake in the total marks – they missed adding 4 marks! I applied for a re-evaluation, but they haven’t updated my score and claim there’s “no change”. I’ve travelled twice to Bhopal, which is about 300 km away, but they keep saying they’ll inform my school about the correction. What legal options do I have to rectify this situation?

You can file a writ petition in the Madhya Pradesh High Court challenging the Board’s inaction. This petition can compel them to re-evaluate your answer sheet and update your score, citing the clear error identified through the RTI. The Court may also direct the Board to reimburse your travel expenses incurred in seeking the correction.
