While your uncle’s experience is unfortunate, filing a complaint against the financial institution for mental distress, reputational damage, and lost time is unlikely to succeed in India. The courts usually require proof of malice or an ulterior motive on the part of the institution for such a complaint to be entertained. However, it’s advisable to consult a lawyer to assess your specific situation and legal options.
