My customer’s cheque bounced twice, the last time on 15th November 2016, and they haven’t paid their dues. Can I take legal action to recover my money? I’m a trader and this situation is causing a lot of stress. Any advice?

Yes, you can take legal action. Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, you can file a criminal complaint against your customer for dishonoring the cheque. You have a three-month window from the date of the second bounce (15th November 2016) to file a complaint. Consult a lawyer for proper legal advice and to proceed with filing a complaint.
