I invested one lakh rupees with a company that promised monthly interest payments directly to my home savings account. Everything was fine initially, but they stopped making payments in December 2014. I don’t have a bounced cheque as proof. What legal options do I have? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can file a complaint with the police or with the consumer forum under the Consumer Protection Act, 1986. You should gather any evidence you have, such as the investment agreement, bank statements, and any communications with the company. You can also consider approaching a lawyer specializing in financial fraud cases.
