As a retired individual, you likely hold a “retired” visa that doesn’t allow for extensions. The Indian visa system doesn’t generally accommodate specific health conditions as a reason for extension. After serving 25 years in the MNS, I retired in September 2015. During my service, I faced health challenges. I was diagnosed with borderline diabetes and hypertension shortly after moving to Ambala. While my initial medical board recognized these conditions as aggravated by service and not due to obesity, my release board in Alwar granted me 40% disability. However, the final authority rejected this, citing non-compliance with rules. This decision feels unfair considering my years of dedicated service and the medical evidence.

My father, a dedicated soldier in the EME Corps of the Indian Army, served for 22 years, retiring as a Havildar in 2008. Despite his desire to serve for two more years, potentially achieving promotion to Nb/Subedar, he was medically retired. Unfortunately, he received neither the promotion, extension, nor a medical pension. Given his medical condition stemmed from his service, shouldn’t he be entitled to a medical pension?

I was discharged from service on 30 April 2008, after serving for 15 years, 8 months, and 15 days. I was categorized as “medically unfit” and received a “surplus to establishment” designation. However, I’m only receiving 50% of my medical pension. I want to appeal for the full 100% medical pension.
