(1) The Court may appoint the District Magistrate of the area where the property
is situated, or any other officer that may be nominated by the District Magistrate, to perform
the functions of an Administrator of such property.
(2) The Administrator appointed under sub-section (1) shall receive and manage the
property in relation to which the order has been made under sub-section (1) of section 117
or under section 120 in such manner and subject to such conditions as may be specified by
the Central Government.
(3) The Administrator shall also take such measures, as the Central Government may
direct, to dispose of the property which is forfeited to the Central Government.

Explanation:

This section deals with the administration and disposal of property that has been forfeited to the Central Government. It empowers the Court to appoint an Administrator to manage and dispose of such property.

Sub-Section (1): The Court can appoint the District Magistrate of the area where the property is located, or any other officer nominated by the District Magistrate, to act as the Administrator of the property.

Sub-Section (2): The appointed Administrator is responsible for receiving and managing the forfeited property. The manner and conditions of this management are specified by the Central Government.

Sub-Section (3): The Administrator must also follow any directions from the Central Government regarding the disposal of the forfeited property.

Illustration

Imagine a case where a property is found to be involved in illegal activities and is consequently forfeited to the Central Government. The Court can appoint the District Magistrate as the Administrator of that property. The Administrator would then manage the property (collecting rent, maintaining it) and eventually dispose of it as per the Central Government’s directives. This could include selling the property or using it for public benefit.
