Namaste,
I’m a Christian, from the Nadar community (BC). However, my parents listed me as Christian-Parayan (SC) on my documents 20 years ago. Now, I’m facing difficulties due to this incorrect caste information. Can I change my caste to Christian-Nadar (BC) officially? I have my father’s school leaving certificate from 5th standard which shows his caste as Christian-Nadar. I want to correct this discrepancy in all my records, including schools. Could you please guide me on how to proceed?
Thank you.

In India, caste certificates are issued based on the community you belong to. While there may be different sub-castes within a community, it is generally not possible to change your caste certificate to a different sub-caste. You should consult with the issuing authority or legal counsel to understand specific regulations and options available in your case.
