My tenant’s rent is due on the 7th of the month, but he gave me a cheque dated January 23rd. His past cheques have bounced, and my lease agreement ends on May 9th. How can I legally evict him for breaking the agreement?

You can legally evict your tenant for breaching the lease agreement by failing to pay rent on time. Since the cheque is dated after the due date and previous cheques have bounced, it is reasonable to believe payment was not made on time. You must follow the proper legal procedure outlined in the Indian Rent Control Act and issue a notice before filing for eviction in court.
