My tenant has bounced a rent cheque and hasn’t paid in almost two months. What steps can I take to get them to leave? I’m really worried about what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Under Indian law, you can issue a legal notice demanding the rent and initiate eviction proceedings if the tenant continues to default. You can also file a criminal complaint for cheque bouncing under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. It is advisable to consult a lawyer to understand your rights and the best course of action.
