My family received a court settlement in 1998 after an accident. The initial amount was low, so we appealed in the Karnataka High Court, which increased the settlement. This money was deposited as a fixed deposit in SBM Bank. Now, after I turned 18, I went to the bank to withdraw the funds, only to find that the increased amount awarded by the High Court isn’t in the deposit. The bank says it’s the court’s fault for not sending the additional money. They’ve only added the initial amount and its interest, leaving out the enhanced portion. What can I do now to get the full amount?

You can file a legal case against the bank for non-compliance with the court order and seek recovery of the full amount, including the enhanced portion awarded by the Karnataka High Court. You can also approach the High Court again to seek an order directing the bank to release the full settlement amount.
