My brother-in-law was recently injured in an accident and is receiving a settlement of 1.5 lakhs. Unfortunately, my uncle, who’s known for his drinking habits, is being unhelpful. We want to ensure the money reaches his two daughters directly, but he’s trying to block us. What can we do in this situation?

In India, you can approach the court for the appointment of a guardian for your brother-in-law’s daughters, who can then receive the settlement on their behalf. The court will consider your uncle’s drinking habits and his attempts to obstruct the process while appointing a suitable guardian.
