My tenant has been operating a permit room since 1994 using forged documents. I found out in 2014 through an RTI request and filed a police complaint. After many attempts, the police finally filed a case against him and charged him in court. This legal battle has been going on for years and it seems like it will take a long time for justice. I’ve tried to get his permit room license revoked by the Excise Office and also his entertainment license for the orchestra and dancers, but they said they can’t act until the court case is over. He’s still operating his business while the case drags on. What can I do?

You can file a civil suit against your tenant for damages arising from his illegal operation and seek an injunction to stop him from continuing to operate the permit room. You can also approach the court handling the criminal case, requesting expedited proceedings given the ongoing violation.
