My family and I have been living in a rented house in Mumbai for a long time. My father was born in this house, and it’s been over 50 years since then. We still pay rent to our landlord, who keeps increasing it by ₹500 every year without any written confirmation of payment. We also have old bills from my dad’s time, and now the landlords want us to repair the house and leave. If we stay after repairs, they want to raise the rent to ₹5,000. I’m not sure what to do – can you advise me on my options?
