You can file a complaint with the Labour Commissioner under the Payment of Wages Act, 1936. This allows for recovery of your unpaid salary, plus compensation and legal expenses. The cost depends on the lawyer you choose and the complexity of the case, but it typically ranges from a few thousand rupees upwards.
